We have previously created a blog on how to wear Barettes, however with the barettes becoming a must have accessory this season and one of the simplest ways to change your hairstyle, we bring you a few simple styles and add some more advanced ways to incorporate barrettes to enhance your look. Barrettes offer endless styling possibilities irrespective of your hair's length or style, whether it's worn up or down. Our range expands with both gala and cellulose acetate varieties.
1. THE SIDE BARRETTE
1. First, Simply part your hair where you please
2. Second, Comb or pull back tightly a section of your hair over your ear
3. Open the barrette with your other hand, slide the barrette up in an angle from just above your ear with the hair inside and shut tight
2. LOW PONY BARRETTE
The Low Pony is a great stylish way for keeping your hair out of your face during the day. This look is equally effective with a tight slicked back effect- “Bella Hadid style” or to soften the look. You can pull through your hair to frame the face creating a stunning effect.
1. Simply open the barrette and enclose the hair inside , then close the barrette
2. Additional Step - Pull out small hair pieces from the part line. This softens and frames your face.
3. HALF UP DO BARRETTE
The half updo is pretty straightforward, but you can switch up the style by incorporating plaits or braids before securing them with a clasp. Alternatively, as shown in the image below, you can simply twist each side before attaching the barrette, achieving a feminine and romantic effect.
4. THE FRENCH ROLL LOOK
This look is a great way to style your hair elegantly and to create a French roll look with a barrette. Your Hair length will determine whether a pony or traditional French Roll look is achieved
Start by making a low pony at the nape of your neck
twist your hair until tight then take the pony upwards against your scalp
Open the barrette , insert it at the top end of your hair making sure you keep a small portion of the ponytail clear and close to secure
Once again, Tendrils can be pulled out at either side of the part line to soften your face or a slicked back effect can be achieved ".
5 . HIGH PONY BARRETTE
A Barrette is also a brilliant way to dress a High Pony and bring colour and finish to your Look. NB This look only works where you have medium thickness to thin Hair
1. First make a High Pony or pony at the level best suited to you with your hands .
2. Open the barrette and enclose the hair inside, then close the barrette
3. Additional Step - Pull out small hair pieces from the part line at the front to frame your face. This softens and frames your face.
6. THE BOW BARRETTE
A Barrette is a finishing touch to bring colour and finish to your Look. This hairstyle looks complicated but is effortlessly simple and can take you well into the evening
1. First make a Plait that begins from the base of your head
2. Roll the Plait over itself, a couple of times, being careful to tuck in the ends.
3. Open the barrette and enclose the hair inside, then close the barrette
4. Additional Step - Pull out small hair pieces from the part line at the front to frame your face. This softens and frames your face.
7. THE 1/2 UPDO OVERLAP BARRETTE
This hairstyle is the twist referred to in step 3 above with a further two steps.
1. First take a small amount of hair from both sides of your hairline, twist the hair over itself , pull to the back
2. Open the barrette and enclose the hair inside, then close the barrette
3. Divide two further small pieces of hair from each side and bring to the front
4.With the first side twist on itself then pull to the back and over the top of the barrette. Using the opposite hand put your finger under the twisted hair close to the barrette and pull through the new piece of hair to sit next to the first twisted part inside the barrette
5.Repeat the process with the other side. Twist the hair , bring it to the back and over the barrette. Using the other hand put your finger up under the twisted hair and pull it through to join the rest inside the barrette.
4. Additional Optional Step - Pull out small hair pieces from the part line at the front to frame your face. This softens and frames your face.
