When Spring approaches each year we turn our minds to picnics, days in the park or beach and hopefully some gorgeous outdoor events. In 2022, and this crazy period of sporadic outdoor openings and " essential" outdoor exercise, there is even more of a need for a hat you love or more than one.
Our beautiful straw hats are designed to our exacting standards in Melbourne, Australia with our Australian way of life in mind, Bucket hats are back in "bucketloads" and the foldable versions will be all important as we seek practicality in addition to Fashion. So Whats in for 2022!
1. The Visor
Not much to say here that you don’t know already. The straw visor is coveted for its easy wear and comfortable fit. We love a quick slip on sun treatment that can be worn to protect your face without giving you “ hat hair”.

2. Packable Woven, Straw & Cotton Blend Sunhats

The bucket hat style was once widely worn by Irish fisherman in the early 1900s. The Leopard Bucket
Kendall Jenner wore this leopard print bucket hat and matching bikini in this mirror selfie. We have no idea if hers is reversible but love the versatility of being able to expose a little black in our Reversible Leopard/Black bucket hat and white in our reversible Leopard/white bucket hat. The Standard Bucket Block colour
From Guess, who partnered with Colombian singer J Balvin to release a line of colourful block colour bucket hats, the block colour standard bucket is being worn by fashionistas the world over . For a fun, two for the price of one look, try our reversible buckets in white/ black, pink/black and grey/ black and for those men out there, like my husband, who can never find a hat to fit, we have added a large 64cm reversible bucket in black/ khaki ! The Print bucket
Fendi, amongst others, matched print buckets to their outfits at this years Fashion Weeks. Whilst Fendi opted for army camouflage, HairFlair Aus has also featured nature but more with our Young adults in mind. Adding to our reversible bucket block colour range all our print buckets again have a block reversible side. With the young girls our reversible daisy hats have been popular in Green/Daisy Green, Pink Daisy /Pink, white/daisy white, and yellow/daisy yellow. Our Blue palm/Black and Reversible Back Green leaf/Black have been more of a male style
9. Cloche hats
The Cloche hat returned in 2020 on fashionistas such as Sarah Jessica Parker through to the runways in Milan! Our handwoven seagrass Cloche is simple, chic and light and can be dressed with a bow or brooch.
10 The little ‘ uns
Hats for the little ‘uns is less of a trend and more about whatever its comfortable, cute and what they are prepared to wear. We love a Toggle bucket hat because it is no fuss sun protection during adventures to the park our beach and much less easy to lose for mum. Our beautiful Georgia Straw hats in Pink & Beige and 100% Raffia hats also have an elastic or ribbon tie.
10 Extras for fun!
The Gucci boater with metal bee was one of 2019s most coveted hats but with a price tag of $510, its not for everyone. This straw boater hat's most defining characteristic is the black grosgrain ribbon with a metal gold bee detail perched on the side so we decided to some fun brooches so you can make your own. Add scarves, brooches and ribbons to your favourite Straw, Raffia, Seagrass or bucket for a removable fun option this Spring/ Summer ! More in store !
